Product Description : Andal is one of the 12 Alvar saints of South India. She is the only female in the ground. The Alvar saints are famous for their link to the Sri Vaishnava tradition in Hinduism. She is known for her devotion to Lord Vishnu. Andal is believed to be an incarnation of Bhoodevi the earth goddess and thus the wife of Lord Vishnu.
Andal has a parrot on her left hand. Her head dress is off to the left in a typical South Indian fashion. She has a beautiful antique green, verde-gris patina.
